bridals

Another picture post? Yeah I know they will soon come to an end. Although, I find this is the most exciting part of peoples blogs, but then again maybe I am the only crazy one who loves to look at people's weddings.

Luck was definitely on our side when we took our bridals. The day before was freezing and terrible weather, so windy and just blah - side note: we were so worried about the wind because we were doing pictures at Thanksgiving Point -but for some reason the weather gods blessed us with the most perfect weather I wasn't even cold and that never happens!

I was so nervous to see Jordan! I don't know why, but when I was walking towards where he stood waiting, my heart was pounding, I had the worst butterflies and I couldn't breathe right. When he turned around it was the most perfect moment and all of that nervousness disappeared. I am so glad we took bridals before our wedding. Some people don't like the idea of the "groom seeing the bride" before the wedding, but honestly I am so happy we have these pictures and were able to display them at our reception.

Along with Travis (www.travisjphotography.com) snapping still shots we were able to have Trevor Haugen of Haugen Creative www.haugencreative.com filming the whole evening. I highly recommend doing a video and Trevor is absolutely amazing. We felt so blessed because Trevor and Travis have worked together multiple times and their personalities  work so well together that the whole evening felt so great! Unfortunately I am struggling major when trying to add our video to this post so look for another one dedicated to the video coming soon. Its amazing! Okay, I am probably bias, but seriously you wont want to miss it!
I love this picture, because this is when Jordan saw me for the first time in my dress!

maybe it's because I am a dancer, but I love this picture.

This is one of my all time favorites

I am obsessed with this picture!

This face though!

Okay you guys, I'll be honest, I am totally in LOVE with my dress. I couldn't have found a more perfect dress. When we first purchased it I was freaking out a little.. okay A LOT! As you can tell my dress is not white, in fact they call it GOLDEN. Well when I was trying it on in the store I did not want to take it off so I bought it right then and there! As we were driving home I started crying and I'm not talking a little tear here and there I was sobbing. "HOW COULD I BUY A YELLOW DRESS! IT'S MY WEDDING DRESS AND ITS NOT EVEN WHITE. I'M GOING TO LOOK LIKE THE LAKERS! (because our colors were purple). My mom was really good at calming me down and I am so happy I bought a "yellow" dress. It is the most perfect dress for me and I couldn't have been happier! I told Jordan that I want to wear it everyday- crazy bride over here? yeah probably!
Jordan likes this picture because it's my real laugh. I think I look like I'm doing something else.

Also, I am so glad I had a veil! I know right now veils are not very popular, but when I put it on a felt like a bride! Everything just fell into place and I couldn't have been happier.

engagements

Honestly, I don't have a lot to say in this post. Its mainly pictures. I love that we have a million pictures between engagements, bridals and the wedding; I want to show the whole world every single photo  so I guess this is the best place to start. We loved our photographer Travis Richardson,  he did a great job of  capturing our "real smiles" which we are so grateful for- go check out his work!       www.travisjphotography.com. Although, I stressed way too much about what to wear I really love how they turned out. So without further adieu I give you our engagements taken in Little Cottonwood Canyon!

This is the picture we sent out with our invitations
This is one of my favorite pictures

and not to mention his baby blues melt my heart!

seriously though, how handsome is he!

and his suit! I can't get over how amazing he looked.

Obviously, these are not the only pictures we took we have a million more and I'm sure they will make their appearance on here eventually.

oh p.s.  You can say I'm pretty lucky. I married the most handsome man out there!

the perfect question

Augusts 1, 2013 is  a day I will never forget.
It was the most perfect proposal.

It was the beginning of summer when Jordan and I decided we wanted to get married. After he asked my dad for permission, we talked about when and where we would like to get married and started looking at rings. I knew we were going to get engaged, but until I had a ring on my finger I didn't want to tell anyone. After a few weeks went by and a month or two went by I started to get antsy. Even though I knew it was going to happen, I wanted a ring. (okay, yes that sounds so shallow of me, but I was so excited!) I started asking Jordan if he still wanted to get married or if he changed his mind because he hadn't asked me yet. Of course I was being silly, but I kept pestering him about having a ring. As our desired wedding date was drawing closer I told Jordan that I needed a ring sooner than later because I needed to start planning the wedding and I felt weird meeting with photographers and other vendors without a ring. After that he broke down and told me he had purchased my ring but it would take a few more weeks to get it because he had to order it in. After that I felt more at ease seeing as he was still thinking about getting married.

The next day  Jordan asked me to get work off early Thursday night because he had a surprise for me. The idea of a proposal didn't even cross my mind because we just had that conversation. Thursday comes and he still hadn't told me what we were going to do, so I asked him how I needed to dress for the evening- casual, nice, sweats- he said, "well, I'm just going to ruin the surprise and tell you what we are going to do. We are going up to park city to do the zipline and then grab some dinner after."
Okay, sounds like a great night. Again the thought of a proposal didn't even cross my mind because the previous weekend we had gone up to park city with his family and we attempted to do the zipline, but while we were in line it closed on us, so I simply assumed it was a rain check.
He picked me up and we drove to park city, to me nothing seemed out of the ordinary but Jordan says he was freaking out the whole time.

As we got off the lift, there was a sign posted with the words  "Wedding Ceremony" written on it, Jordan pointed it out and said we should just walk over there to look at it. My initial response was no, we need to go get in line, luckily he convinced me otherwise. As we came around the corner of trees, there were a hundred white chairs set up in rows with an isle down the middle. As we proceeded to walk down the isle I was enjoying the beautiful mountains and while doing so I noticed some flowers laying on a platform at the end-now this is a really dumb moment for me because I just thought someone had left their flowers there on accident, obviously they were for me!
We made it to the end of the isle and Jordan goes "oh what are these" then I finally get the hint!
I turn to him and he is down on one knee. Saying words I don't even remember but words that were so perfect. He opens the box and there it is! The most BEAUTIFUL ring I have ever laid eyes on.

It was the biggest surprise! I mean I knew it was going to happen, I just didn't know how. For me, it was so perfect. I am so proud of Jordan. He was so thoughtful in the whole process. He even had a hidden photographer to document the whole thing! (Big thanks to our friend Janzten)
The evening was perfect and I couldn't have been happier!
