weekend getaway

This past weekend Jordan and I took a quick trip to Las Vegas.
Jordan's nephew MCKAY was getting baptized down there, so we made the journey for his special day.  It was such a nice getaway, not having to think about school or do ANY homework. (it's a good thing, because the week before I was about ready to hide in a dark room until the end of the semester, let's just say I won't be taking 19 credits in one semester ever again!)

The first night we were there we went to dinner with his family at CHEESECAKE FACTORY- a favorite and then Jordan and I walked the strip for a bit. We started shopping and I tried convincing him for some RED BOTTOM HEELS, but he wouldn't have it.. maybe next time I'll be able to convince him! After we roamed the world for a few hours we went back to the hotel and watch RIDICULOUSNESS for probably three hours. That show is so funny! We were laughing our heads off. After being married for a while I think its possible to forget how awesome it is to go to bed with each other- you're basically having a sleep over with your best friend every night. It's awesome! Jordan reminded me of this as we were laying in bed laughing our heads off. Being married is pretty much the best!

The next morning we sat by the pool with his family just talking- unfortunately it wasn't as warm as we were hoping for, I swear we always get bad weather whenever we go on vacation, but it was still better than snow! After that Andrea (my new sister in law) and I went and got pedicures.  It was fun chatting with her, she is great, I married into such a great family. After our pampering, it was time for the baptism. Baptisms are such a sweet experience and it was great to experience the simpleness and one of the first steps we take as members of the church. We went to dinner and called it an early night.

Saturday morning while Jordan went golfing I decided to lay by the pool for a few hours. I am confident the sun is my best friend although anytime I stay out for more than an hour i get sunburnt! It was so relaxing and just what I needed to get through the next few weeks of school.
That evening we went with Jordan's parents to MYSTERE. The show was amazing. There were so many cool acrobatic acts; I have never seen a Cirque du Soleil show before so I loved it!

I don't know what happened to me this weekend.
This is the only picture of us!
so even though it is dark it had to be posted!

Sunday morning we headed out early. We had to be back for baby brig's  blessing that evening. It was nice being able to listen to conference while driving. There were so many talks that hit home. I love conference, it is such a great time to reflect on how I am doing and what I need to do to better my life.   A conference post will be coming shortly.

He is the sweetest little one.
I forgot to get a picture in his blessing outfit, so this one will do

Baby B's blessing was so great. It was so fun to see Jordan participate in the blessing! (He also participated in Mckay's confirmation). I am so grateful for a husband who is a worthy priesthood holder! It makes my heart happy.  The blessing was beautiful and it was great to spend the evening with family.

It was such a great weekend! It made it hard to wake up for school this morning!
Cheers to another week!

spring break

UVU is definitely better than BYU because we get a SPRING BREAK and they don't!
Seriously, I think I would die if I didn't get a break from school, and even though Jordan and I didn't go out of town this year, the fact that we had nothing to do- no homework- no class- nothing was so fantastic.

It was basically one of the laziest weeks ever, but sleeping in till about ELEVEN everyday was so marvelous; I really needed to catch up on my sleep. Jordan is also the best husband ever and let me spend the week pampering myself. Getting my nails done, hair done and finishing out the week with a MASSAGE. It was a wonderful.
" thanks for working for us honey, you're the best"

I even spent some quality time with BRIGHAM aka BABY BRIGGS (my sister, Michelle's, new baby- yes, this is boy number 4 for her.) He is seriously the sweetest little one, I can't get enough of him.

I hope my sister doesn't care that i stole these pictures from her.
Kate Bensen took his newborn pictures and i seriously look at the almost everyday.

I might be slightly obsessed.
He is the sweetest little thing!

Wednesday evening we had an adventure taking the front runner to salt lake. This was so fun because we didn't really have a plan. Just jump on the train find some food and try to make it back- we didn't even know if we would end up in the right place. When we got to salt lake, we realized the JAZZ had a home game-- how convenient right? On a whim we decided to go to the game and we bought tickets from a scalper! Jordan was so nervous something bad was going to happen but everything turned out great. The game was so fun and we enjoyed every minuet of it, but unfortunately in the last few minuets our jazz let us down. Story of the season right? But even with the Jazz losing it was such a fun night!

a video will be coming shortly..
it's being lame and won't upload, so for now
here is a picture :)

Unfortunately, like all good things, spring break had to end. It was such a great week being lazy and spending time with Jordan. Now if the last month of school can fly by that would be fantastic!

Wedding: (part 2) THE RECEPTION

Oh man, this day was so perfect. I love thinking about how truly happy I was (and still am). Everything went perfectly. I was even early to almost everything (which was a huge surprise to me and Jordan and both our families because I am usually always late to everything!) It was literally the best day of my life.

We held our reception at The Manor at Riverwoods. Ideally I would have liked to do an outdoor reception, but in October the weather is too sketchy.  But honestly, the Manor was a perfect location to hold our reception. Because the Manor is so close to where we both grew up, we felt like the majority of the people we invited attended-it was a great turn out. The building itself is gorgeous, it was a great location.

Looking back, the only thing I would have changed is having a longer reception, CRAZY I know! I thought two hours would have been enough time, but I wish it would have lasted just a half hour longer to hang out and visit after the receiving line and lets be honest, I didn't want the day to end. After our reception Jordan and I spent the night in salt lake at THE LITTLE AMERICA before catching a plane to HAWAII. (a honeymoon post will becoming shortly).

I know I keep saying this day was perfect and amazing, blah, blah, blah, I know, I sound so cheesy! But, honestly I can't explain this day any other way. It was the best day of my life. So for now- enjoy the cheesiness!

WEDDING: (part 1) THE TEMPLE

OCTOBER 18th
the most PERFECT and HAPPIEST day of my life.

Jordan and I were sealed for time and all eternity
in the Salt Lake Temple

Friday morning, I woke up around 5:30, a bit too early if you ask me but totally worth it! My dear friend Starlee (who works at AMARA) did my amazing hair and Keara who also works at Amara did my wonderful make up.  The morning was going smoothly and I even made it home with a few minuets to spare before Jordan picked me up for our drive to the temple.

As Jordan and I drove to the temple, it felt like a dream. I couldn't believe we were actually getting married! Surprisingly we made it to salt lake with time to spare. So, I asked Jordan if we could stop and get some PRETZELS! (haha) Well, they didn't have them at the first gas station so we ran to the Harmon's by City Creek. It was so funny as we were running around the grocery store looking for pretzels in his suit and me in a dress with my hair and make up done.

After our pit stop we made it to the temple, they asked us to be there a few hours before our actual sealing to go over all the details and paperwork. Then we had an hour or so to spend together in the celestial room. The anticipation was KILLING me! I was so excited and so calm. I couldn't wait another second to marry my price and although we waited for what seemed like forever, I am grateful for that time we shared just sitting there. It helped us reflect on the importance of what we were doing. Finally, they brought us into the sealing room. It was amazing. All of our friends and family sitting their supporting us. When I saw my grandpa I lost it. He is so special to me (as i commented in an earlier post, my grandpa had a quick trip to the hospital the day before I took out my endowments, so I was extremely grateful and excited to see him in the sealing room.) The sealing was so perfect. I don't even remember what was said and half the time I couldn't even look at Jordan because I knew I would start sobbing uncontrollably. But looking into his eyes, holding hand and saying "I DO" was the most special moment of my life! Everything was perfect and the feeling of happiness was overwhelming. I couldn't have been more happy.

Proceeding the ceremony we took a million pictures- as Jordan would say. I loved taking pictures, even though I was FROZEN the entire time. (luckily I had a great photographer and you can't even tell I was cold!) Finally pictures wrapped up and Jordan and I drove home to our reception as MR and MRS!

I apologize in advance for all the pictures, but there are just too many that I love. So hopefully you enjoy them as much as I do.
